April Magazines, Caps, Flight Suit Badges & Renewal Date Stickers

April 22nd, 2010

Do you have the above items?

The latest issue of Microflight Africa has been sent to all the paid up members of MISASA for whom I have received information from the Aero Club or from BRETT HICKMAN our MISASA Treasurer. It is a tad sad that many pilots that have paid their membership fees will not be receiving their magazine which includes a: 2010 MISASA Pilot’s cap, 2010 MISASA Flight suit badge and a renewal date sticker.

Members can quickly and easily help me with this problem by updating their information as follows:

Is MISASA Membership Mandatory?

January 27th, 2010

Note from the Editor.

There is no requirement to be a member of the Aero Club / MISASA although there are significant benefits that accrure to those that do belong. It is possible that membership will become mandatory ito CAA requirements. RAASA currently do not issue ATF’s to pilots that are not members in cases where the AP that signed off the aircraft enjoys the benefit of an established collective insurance policy. Should a pilot wish to obtain an ATF without MISASA membership then they must obtain an AP from an independent AME.

Set out below is my understanding of the detail pertaining to this matter:

Payment of Membership Fees

December 1st, 2009

MISASA

It’s that time of year again, MISASA membership fees fall due on January 1st, 2010. Please see How to pay MISASA Membership Fees Online

There are now some 1,000 MPL and SPL Pilots that belong to MISASA. The administrative workload to collect membership fees and to reconcile deposits has become problematic. The Aeroclub has in previous years collected our membership fees. The Aeroclub has a huge amount of funding that manually they have not been able to reconcile and allocate to individual members.
